i want to get one for a budgie. just one budgie.i know not to get a cage marketed for budgies.how much would a medium sized cage cost?ill get perches and toys later.

i bought one for a real good price thats huge for a budgie at petco that i found on sale.
craigslist sometimes has good deals. then again i bought one for my conure that was over $300 and a bird show.
so look around for deals, remember bigger is better

It depends on the style and quality of the cage, although usually, you can borrow one from a friend. The cage shouldn’t be too small, because budgies are supposed to be active. Medium cages shouldn’t be over 400,that’s for sure, but there are several expensive cages that are bigger and probably better.

I agree w/ those who answered about the cages- larger is better, quality- one paint won’t chip – make sure bar spacing is small for a budgie. One thing- I hope you aren’t getting the parrot before you get toys & perches! Get a variety of perches- branch style, comfy,etc. Have fun decorating! They love the stimulation of many things to do! Have fun!
