Ebay prices might be decent… but once you add the shipping, you might as well get a new one! You can sometimes find good prices on cages on craigslist or in the newspaper classifieds. Also check out local bird shows/sales or flea markets. I buy all of my cages at the flea market… they are new and sold at wholesale price. If you do get a used cage… be sure to disinfect the cage with hot soapy water (be careful with cleaners… you have to make sure that NO residue is left on the cage).

Heat lamps are better, make SURE the birds cannot get to them or the cords!! Birds are ever curious….

i am planning to get one of those large vision lo1 model bird cages for my finches but i am not sure they are suitable for my society finches can anyone please tell me if they are suitable or not thank you.
{ i want to know why they are not suitable if they are not}
and what i can do to it to make it suitable.
but isn there a problem with the cage bars{ i think they are too wide i need to know

that would be perfect for your finch! but the bigger the cage is the happier the bird! so please buy the largest one you can afford!

Does anyone know website that sell extra large or large bird cages for $70-$140 including postage preferably a australian website

I am not from Australia so I don’t know specific sites.

But a basic ad site that sells used items should work.
They sometimes sell almost perfect cages for 1/4 its original price

like instead of using a bird cage can i use a reptile cages?
its like the same shape except it has squares and boxes as oppossed to horizontal bars/ vertical bars.

So can i use this?
the cage is pretty large and in a rectangle shape.
I want to house an africain gray in it and cannont find a cage big enough for a affordable price range.

Yes of course you can. If the mesh or bar spacing is correct for the bird and the access door and perching or platforms are easy to adapt and use, no reason why you cannot. I have seen some of those reptile cage and they are well made and strong and very much like a bird cage anyway. So if it is right for you and your birds and the price is right…go for it.
